The stock for the shops are now divided into two tabs - Player Stock and Main Stock. The player stock is stuff that has been sold to the shop by other players and main stock carries items that is always available, albeit at a potentially higher price.

Runescape is a powerful tool to help young people learn about people and life around them in a safe environment.

I’ve never really thought of Runescape as being an environment in which to learn about life!

“With the Shop Rework it was simply an issue of us recognising that the shops did not work in the way that we wanted them to, and deciding how to change them so they did,” says Mod Mark. The Shop Rework was given to Mod Tim, who says, “I was given the concept, reasons and aims of the project – one tab for infinite stock and one tab for player stock – and went about writing the specifics of my brief from there.”

Dungeon Makeover

Evil Dave’s house down in Edgeville will be getting an upgrade to the decor. Vannaka who lurks in there can be a little tetchy about his tastes so the team had to take care when upgrading this dungeon!

Shop Rework

Also this month the bots are going to get hit by an upcoming rework. Often you find shops empty of stock after a bot has been by and bought out the inventory but the rework will give the shops an infinite supply of various key items.

This update should give you everything you need to make buying and selling more fun and a lot less frustrating. Prices will also be tweaked so as not to unbalance the game.

Shared Loot System for Clan Players

The shared loot system will be a better way of distributing loot amongst your team. This is going to be an extension of the clan chat channels. Each item drop recorded whilst signed into the system will be allocated randomly to anyone within the group, regardless of damage done by that player.

The shared loot system is optional so if you prefer the old way of playing you can stick with that.

When you first start out it can be pretty easy to race through the first few levels but after a while progression starts to slow down. So what is life really like as a high level? Steve over at Runescape Game Play shares his thoughts.

Here’s some of the benefits:

Life is great when you are a high level player, you can do anything you want on RS. I can kill the Kalphite Queen, K’ril the Zammy god wars boss solo and other bosses with a team, no one can hit harder than me and no one has better defence or attack than me.

But life is not all rosy at the top:

A forgotten and weakened altar has been unearthed north of the Observatory. With the ability to produce any type of rune, the altar holds undeniable power, but its discovery would be so much sweeter if the Zamorakian Magical Institute (ZMI) hadn’t got there first.

There are no requirements to use the ZMI Altar but to use the lunar teleport to it you need to have completed the Lunar Diplomacy quest and have 70 Magic skill.

In life we are told to set goals, and why shouldn’t we do the same thing in a game like Runescape? Well there’s a danger in constant goal setting - you might forget that Runescape is a game! If all you do is set one goal after another it becomes a chore and it’s no longer fun to play. With life, you need to set goals to get ahead but life is more than just a game…
